Music & Worship Ministries

The Music Ministry of Castleview encourages individual worship and inspires corporate worship. Our dream is to have a church that enjoys worship and enters into it with meaning, both intellectually and emotionally. Worship can and should be both transcendent and imminent, recognizing that God is both far above and close at hand. Therefore we will offer both emphases so that a person can have a complete, broad-based worship life.

Choir - A Worship Community

Who We Are:
"May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you a spirit of unity among yourselves as you follow Christ Jesus, so that with one heart and voice you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ." (Romans 15:5-6)

What We Believe:
  • We are worshipers before we are musicians.
  • We believe that worship is a life we live, not just songs that we sing on Sunday morning.
  • As a community, we share a common life in Jesus Christ.

When We Meet:
Every Wednesday evening from 6:30-8:00pm in the Sanctuary. Childcare is provided for all ages.

What must I do to join the Choir?:
  • Be in attendance for two consecutive rehearsals.
  • Have the ability to sing a part on pitch and in rhythm, blend with other voices and learn the music. You do not have to read music to join the choir. God sends us people with varied musical skills. There is a percentage in our choir that does not read music at any level. We simply place you near someone who does, and the corporate result greatly overrides any individual result.
  • Meet for a brief interview with the Director of Music.

Though the choir is a volunteer/non-paid organization, people join out of a God-given talent, desire and calling to this ministry. This is a "skilled" area of ministry, as well as a "service" area. We believe that a person's heart and personal walk with Jesus will be the life or death of our music ministry. Although no audition is required, we want a music ministry that will bear fruit for God's kingdom, which requires from the person ministering a thoroughly thought-out commitment, adequate vocal and spiritual preparation and unshakeable integrity.

Vocal Ensembles

Select ensembles (duets, trios, quartets, etc.) made up primarily of Choir members, sing periodically in services and special events. Ensembles are made up of choir and non-choir members.

Instrumental Team

This group is comprised of organ, piano, multiple guitars, bass, percussion and keyboards. The instrumental team accompanies the Sunday morning services. Anyone interested in joining our instrumental team should contact the Director of Music.
